From March 27 to 30, 2025, the valley beneath the Ponce mountains will once again transform into a true sports hub, where the world's best ski flyers will push the limits, chasing extreme distances and prestigious victories on the Flying Hill of Gorišek Brothers
Planica is not just a venue for unforgettable sporting moments; it is a place of passion that unites fans from all over the world. The spectacle at the Gorišek Brothers hill will deliver breathtaking flights, accompanied by the roaring support of Slovenian fans, whose boundless energy and enthusiasm create a truly unique atmosphere. Beyond world-class ski flying, Planica 2025 will offer visitors a variety of activities—from concerts and entertainment programs to culinary delights—making this event an unforgettable experience for the whole family.
An exciting preview of this spectacular March event has already been set by Slovenian eagles, who shined in the season’s first ski flying competitions. In Oberstdorf, Timi Zajc and Domen Prevc proved that Slovenia remains among the world’s elite in ski flying, signaling that top performances can be expected on home soil as well. Together with their teammates, they will ensure unforgettable moments at the Gorišek Brothers hill, offering spectators an extraordinary sports experience and a true celebration of ski flying.
Looking Ahead
With our sights set on the future, we are preparing for upcoming challenges, culminating in the 2028 Ski Flying World Championships. By securing the organization of this prestigious event, the Ski Association of Slovenia has taken on a great responsibility and honor. Our goal is to continuously elevate the quality of the event, ensuring that Planica remains Slovenia’s greatest sports festival. The year 2028 will mark a key milestone, as we welcome the world’s best ski flyers competing for the title of world champion. In our commitment to inclusivity, we have also requested that the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) introduce a women’s competition at this World Championship.
