The decoration is awarded to Anže for his exceptional sportsmanship, noble actions, and promotion of the spirit of fair competition in sports, as well as for fostering very good relations between Poles and Slovenians, as well as between both countries.
Anže Lanišek left a lasting impression on Polish fans with a wonderful gesture at the end of last season, which he finished among the top three. His success was intertwined with the absence of Polish jumper Dawid Kubacki, who had to end the season prematurely due to his wife Marta's health problems. Lanišek remembered his fellow competitor at the awards ceremony and symbolically brought a cardboard likeness of the Pole with him.
