In today's editorial in FIS monthly news, president Gian Franco Kasper revealed, that on its recent meeting the FIS Council has placed the Ski Flying World championships in Planica among those ski-jumping test competitions of this winter, for which the new rule about inrun height and wind speed is valid. The new rule, which has been tested in competitons for Summer Grand Prix, was accepted well by the competitors and coaches. This kind of system for calculating final points allows more equivalent conditions for the competitors. "We are very pleased with the decission of the FIS Council. The new rule will enable safer flights on the biggest ski-jumping hill in the world in Planica. That also means, that we can cope with the moody weather conditions, that are sometimes present in the valley under the Ponce mountain. Chances for cancelation of the competitions will be decreased and all the competitors, even those not so good, will be able to fly further," commented Jelko Gros, chief of World championships competition, on the decision of the FIS Council.
